How Catapultanian Came Home

I'd been living here in Mexico a week when Catapultanian (Cat for short) decided to go on one of his usual outdoor exploratory expeditions. But even the little Livingston doesn't leave for more than three days so I began to worry after four days. One night I prayed that God would bring him back. In fact, in my sorrowful and worrisome state that night I cried to God. Then I felt like God told me, "You're not crying because you're pleading with me to bring Cat home. You're crying because you don't think I can bring Cat home, as if you've forgotten who I am and what I can do." Then He reminded me of the story of how the Ark of the Covenant came back from the Philistines to the Israelites. The Philistines put the Ark on a cart and hitched it to two cows that had just borne calves. With no human guidance the cows bore a strange cart down an unknown road to a foreign land and stopped as soon as they crossed the border. They waited there until the Israelites came and recovered the Ark and sacrificed the cart and the cows. (1 Samuel 6) "I not only can guide animals, I already have," He reminded me. (Later I remembered the other Ark and the animals coming in pairs) The following night I began to write an update and wrote about Cat and how God told me He could bring Cat home. That night I woke up in the middle of the night. I knew where Siren and Eeyore were, so who was that cat on the chair in the corner? Flipping on the light I saw Cat sitting in the chair squinting up at me. Yay! God brought Cat home for me! Sometimes our great and powerful God takes notice of our "petty" concerns.

P.S. Our dog Fifi went missing for a couple days, too, but came home the day after Cat's return. That night Dwight and Kristi had a lovely reunion with Fifi while I got a nice Cat cuddle. We've found that pets are a great help and comfort to us. Naturally today my little explorer has gone on another expedition, but I know he knows this is home.
